The Center for Transformation Research and Sustainability (TransZent) was jointly established by the University of Wuppertal and the Wuppertal Institute as an Interdisciplinary Research Center of the University of Wuppertal in October 2013. Through our close cooperation with the Wuppertal Institute we integrate the University’s disciplinary research capacities with the epertise of the Wuppertal Institute in applied sustainability and transformation research.

Therefore we collaborate on interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research projects on sustainability transformations. We want to analyze the conditions of fundamental transitions in comparative perspective and derive approaches of action towards enhancing sustainable development. This also reflects the vision of the University of Wuppertal to understand and shape change processes in society, culture, technology and nature.
